I heart aqua + lemon with a touch of green

Obvs. I have a passion for aqua and this color combination has been lingering in my mind ever since I spotted this gorgeous wedding over at Amorology. I hope you like!

  • Summer Entertaining

A pretty glass beverage dispenser is a must for impressing your guests at a summer gala, but you need not spend big bucks to comply. I spotted this lovely over at Such Pretty Things. Can you believe she purchased it for only 16.99?! What would we do without Target? She also shared this recipe below for Old-Fashioned Strawberry Lemonade:

    Ingredients:
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (5 to 6 lemons)
1/2 to 3/4 cup superfine sugar, to taste
    1 cup crushed ice
    4 cups water
    2 teaspoons grenadine
    6 maraschino cherries
    Directions:
Place the lemon juice, sugar, ice, water, and grenadine in a blender and process until completely smooth. Place a cherry in the bottom of 6 glasses and pour the lemon juice mixture in the glass.

    Cheers!

    Pretty for Pennies

Most likely you have a Forever 21 at your local mall. Hundreds of times I have walked right past this store never thinking to go in. Perhaps it was the name? I already have a hard enough time convincing people I am of the drinking age! I have always heard that it is THE place to go for trendy, chic and cheap clothes and accessories. Last week I was searching for a fun and bright piece of statement jewelry to accessorize a top I had purchased. I had already splurged on the shirt (juicy....yikes!) so I couldn't spend a lot. So, I drug my mom and sister into our local Forever 21 store and we were all suprised by the assortment of trendy, fashion pieces that mirror all of the hot trends in magazines this season! I found this great floral necklace that matches my top perfectly, and it only cost me $5.80!

I will definatley be visitng Forever 21 again.
  • Back home + new shop items!

Hello everyone! I am back from my visit to Houston. I had a great time seeing my parents, sisters, nieces and nephew! Now it's back to business :-) While I was there my mom and I worked on two new shop items!

First up we have our twig pencils. They are already sold in the shop individually as an escort card but we can't resist how cute they look bundled. You can purchase this bundle of 5 with a sweet nature tag here.

Next, we have this dainty little rose favor box. It is perfect for packaging your favors or a tiny gift. The scalloped tag slips nicely under and allows you to write your recipient's name or sweet message. Purchase here.

    Pink + Aqua

I wasn't sure I was going to pull off an entry into the MIW Inspiration Board Contest this time around with all the catch up an etsy orders (yay!) I have been working on, but I just couldnt resist.......

And so I present you with a color board inspired by my two favorite colors!!!

I really love this color combination of aqua and fuschia. Actually I fancy aqua and any shade of pink! Not only is it fun, fresh and vibrant, I think it is really versatile as well. I can see it used in a modern, vintage, or bohemian style wedding!

    Artist Crush: Janet Hill

My latest artist crush is on the talented Janet Hill. I love the feminine style she infuses into her interior paintings! Check out her blog...she posts a new painting everyday! Better be quick though as they sell out within minutes!
  • Happy Meal!

How cute is this couple stopping for a quick burger at McDonald's on the way to their wedding! According to the photographer Laura Kay, the bride loves food and went on to eat a 10-course Chinese dinner at the reception. Aah...a girl after my own heart!

    Etsy Wedding Team Love

So, I have a confession...I have been a member of the Etsy Wedding Street Team for several months now but have neglected to check out my fellow teammate's Etsy Shops! Boy have I been missing out. There are some super talented designers in this group. I have decided that once a week I will highlight some of my favorite items. This week I am focusing on invitations.

    Here we go!

First up we have Enfin ,La Volia! This seller from Belgium has tons of kitchsy, retro, and vintage style wedding invitations! I love this one below with the giant peony. Pink and Aqua....can't go wrong :-)

Next up we have Post. I have featured a DIY Boarding Pass on the blog before but if you want to skip the stressful DIY part and go straight to the adorable finished invitation part than this one's for you!

Next we have Sandy Photo Art. This designer from Hawaii has some beautiful invitation sets with fresh, modern appeal. I love the color combination of the one below! *Also available in other colors.

And last, but certainly not least.....we have Cardinal Ink, How perfect would these cute invitations go with LBB's Friendly Forest Escort Pencil?!
These are just a small sampling from a sea of brilliant designs available from the Etsy Wedding Team's members. Please check out the blog for a complete list of all vendors!

  • Rainbow of Shoes

I love the idea of non-coordinating elements in bridesmaids attire and mismatched shoes is a great way to achieve this look. I spotted this great photo by Laura Kay Photo via Erin Ever After and had to share it with you!

I love how the formality of the black dresses is off-set with the vibrant array of colors in the shoes.
If you love this idea but are not crazy about incorporating so many colors or styles how about the same shoes in different colors? I absolutely adore the shoe I found below at Nordstroms. It comes in magenta, taupe, and black (not pictured).

    I love Austin + Anthro

Hooray for Austin! I was so excited to see these images of my beloved college town in the June issue of Anthropolgie! These pics, featuring some of my favorite Austin hot spots, (Jos, Gueros Taco Bar, Alamo Draft House!) just make me so giddy. The shots really capture the eccentric, hip vibe of South Congress Street.
Perfect Bound hit the nail on the head when she said "some of the shots in the catalogue look more like an out-of-this-world save the date than anything else?" She is so right, and Austin is an amazing venue for weddings :-)
Thanks you Anthro for spotlighting such an amazing city! Now please get my bathing suit in stock and mailed to me!

    A PERFECT Country Wedding

I am sure you have seen this photo shoot by now but I couldn't help reposting it in chance that you haven't? It is seriously one of the most beautiful (pretend) weddings I have seen. This couple is gorgeous, the horses are so fun, the fabrics are divine, the table scape is perfection........
