    Backyard Chic

I almost cried when I saw how fantastic this vintage shabby chic wedding photo shoot was. That is how serious I am about wedding design. And anything Shabby Chic.
I love all of the vintage elements of the table scape from the aqua mason jars to the pink, amber, and turquoise glass votives, and especially the vintage address number 8 tied to the chairOn a side note, I have been seeing an abundance of these freakin amazing wedding shoots lately and I am starting to wonder if all of these great details could really transfer in to a "real wedding" I mean I LOVE the chairs above, but could they really safely seat a guest?

Nonetheless, I love to gather inspiration from these elaborately designed settings and hope one day that I could possibly pull off something half as fabulous!
This is just a small sampling of photos from the actual shoot. Style Me Pretty has a lot more. You really should check it out!

    Beaty Photography

I am so excited that Jon and Emily of Beaty Photography allowed me to share this beautiful wedding that they shot here in Fort Smith!

Ret and Caitlin were married on June, 13 2009. I love Caitlin's dress!

Love the color palette of greens and pinks!

The girls got beautified at Vogue Aesthetics in historic downtown Fort Smith. (I'm in love with the image of the dress on the door!)

The ceremony took place at Christ the King Church in Fort Smith.

At the reception the guests were treated to a candy bar of delicious pink and green candies.
Check out Beaty Photography's site and blog for more beautiful pics! They offer Lifestyle and Wedding Photography and are conveniently located here in Fort Smith.

I am so excited about the amazing wedding resources I am learning about in this town :-)

    French Market DIY Centerpiece

A delightful tutorial by Chelsea Fuss via Once Wed shows how to take this galvanized pot from Anthropologie .................
And turn it into this beautiful table scape of peonies!

One thing I wish I knew more about is floral arrangements because I really believe that they can make or break an event. With this simple tutorial even an amateur like me will be able to create a stunning centerpieces for their next party! I am thinking about buying these pots from anthro but I may wait until they get marked down.

    Eco-Chic Wedding Gowns

So I just now found out about Utterly Engaged, an online wedding magazine dedicated to finding creative alternatives for modern brides. They just came out with issue #2 and it is a must read! I love the spread on eco-chic wedding gowns with designs by Sarah Seven:

And Morgan Boszilkov: I can't get enough! The gowns are stunning and the photography by Stephanie Williams is magnificant! Check out the whole issue here.
  • Lilly BonBon

The woodlands-inspired paper of art of Lilly BonBon puts the biggest smile on my face!

The whimsical owl toppers are so stinkin cute! Use them to spruce up an ordinary cupcake or plant,
    Love the mushrooms too!
These toppers are a great way to tie together a woodlands-inspired bridal or baby shower! I love the soft pastels.

    Bird

I am definitely a Juicy Girl. And not just for the label. I mean I really love their clothes. They fit me so incredibly well and I always get a lot of compliments when I wear them!Juicy is launching their new line Bird this fall. Compared with their laid-back pieces like the classic tracksuit, this new line has a more Urban, downtown feel while still being wearable. Bird consists of sophisticated, fitted pieces inspired by timeless, vintage silhouettes.

I particularly love the Erika Military Jacket. I guess I will start saving my pennies!

    Love is like a butterfly.....

"Love is like a butterfly, it goes where it pleases and pleases where it goes"

Loving all of these butterfly details being used in weddings. The notion of a butterfly and their natural beauty is so sweet, it is only obvious that it belongs in a celebration of love!

    Vintage Style Labels

Sometimes I see something fabulous and just know that I have to share it on my blog. That is what happened when I came across these DIY vintage labels for oil and vinegar jars.

These pretty labels are available for free download with instructions over at Eat Drink Chic. This would make a great hostess gift! I am going to try this out and will let you know how they turn out!

  • PrettyNenny

Good morning Lovelies. I hope your Monday is off to a great start! I wanted to share this new Etsy Designer, prettynenny.

Prettynenny makes wonderful hairbands that are just as easy to wear as they are gorgeous.

Sporting a hairband is an instant way to glam up your look. Wear this pink plaid one to unlock your inner school girl.

Hairbands are also a great accessory for your bridesmaids. Matching bands would be a great way to unify them leaving them free to wear non-matchy dresses.

Check out prettynenny to see more pretties!

    Today I love....

Pretty garlands to hang in my home.....

I love love love this beautiful stained glass garland by Pamela Angus. Antique glass, aged patina finish and vintage millinery = romantic, pretty goodness! I have been dreaming of buying one to hang in a sunny window. First I need a sunny window!

Also on my wish list is this delicate paper mobile by Royal Buffet. The pretty butterflies are made of vintage dictionary and french magazine pages. What a perfect way to liven up a corner in your home!

Another lovely option is this dainty garland appropriately named "Feeling Knotty" by Wunderlust. I love the organic feel of the fabric mixed with the soft vintage ribbon and tulle. So pretty!!!

So......which do you like the best?

We all scream for ice cream!

Nothing says summer like an icy treat on a warm steamy day. Even as a grown woman I still hear the ice cream truck coming down the street and start scrounging for change.

I was flipping through my latest issue of Martha Stewart and was delighted to learn the newest trend on the summer wedding radar: the iconic ice cream truck!

With it's classic treats and nostalgic appeal, an old-fashioned ice cream truck is sure to be a crowd-pleaser!

Also, just as adorable.....the ice cream stand! Server with striped tie=a must!
And in more ice cream news, how sweet is this idea for an engagement session? This 1950s inspired ice cream parlor engagement session was shot by Megan W Photography and was spotted via Vintage Glam Blog. Click links to see more.

    "A sip of gratitude"

My mother and I were fortunate to work with the sweet and lovely bride Kayla to create these cocktail soda favors for her guests at her June wedding!

The pink hue of the sodas perfectly complimented her color scheme and were a unique send-off for her guests!
Kayla's coordinator Claudia did a beautiful job with the display!

    Happy Friday!

Hooray! I have my computer back just in time for a quick post on this last day of the week. I have to say I have felt completely lost this week not being able to read my favorite blogs and of course share posts on here!I spotted these beautiful pictures over at Kiss the Groom (blog I seriously stalk). The dress, the girl, the crown......so lovely! I am definitely still smitten with crowns and this beauty from Rosemary, Rosemary is perfection. The dress is by designer Kristie Kelly Couture. Elizabeth has more amazing photos of these stunning dresses right here.
