Happy Halloween
Halloween weekend is here! I hope you all have fun plans. A dress-up party to attend? Trick or Treating with the little ones? The husband and I are going to a corn maze tonight with some friends. Never heard of it but I am excited!
I love these "non traditional" Halloween images from Mads Teglers. This makes me want to go to a masquerade ball!

Rainy Day Project: paper pinwheels
I saw this tutorial on finishing touch event design on how to make paper pinwheels and I thought wow, this is a really simple and adorable diy project. Sooo, on a rainy day (yesterday) I pulled out my pretty patterned paper and vintage buttons and got to work.I wish I would have had more patterned paper, along the lines of vintage wallpaper, but I think they turned out cute. I was experimenting on what in the world to do with them and I added a name banner to one. I think they would make cute place cards, or you could turn them into a napkin ring. Or, as seen in this tablescape, an over sized pinwheel hanging on the back of a chair looks super cute!

Happy Weekend
Please forgive my light posting this week. I have been battling a pretty bad cold while working like crazy to finish up a big order of spooky spider favors for a very special girl's birthday
Luckily, I can rest up this weekend and of course take a long hot bath! I can't think of anything that a hot bath won't cure either (for me anyways) :-)

And this calendar, yes I said calendar, is too clever! It is printed on canvas and features a pretty sea foam green ribbon for hanging. Hop on over to Mint to enter to win your very own!

Today I love.........
.........Jessica Claire and her beautiful shabby chic, anthropologie-infused photo shoot
I was so taken with those pretty florals the I was persuaded into purchasing these monogram mugs from anthro....
They are not the exact same mugs, but I love the feminine, curly lettering of these. I think that filled with fresh flowers, sitting on a nightstand, they would be a lovely welcoming to a guest room. Ooooh and remember the french market florals? Well the pots are on sale and my very own set are on their way to my house!

Mini-Pies, Please
If you are looking for a unique treat for your guests why not try these tasty tartlets?
I have been spotting mini-pies everywhere lately and it makes me think that they could quite possibly be the next "big thing" Nonetheless, they are darling for fall and definitely would fit in at a rustic wedding!
Try making your own or purchase from a local bakery and finish with pretty packaging :-)

The Sweetest Occasion
There is a new blog on the block and I am already smitten! The Sweetest Occasion already has some super cute and inspiring ideas such as her weekly puppy love post!
Doesn't Lola look lovely in her string of pearls? To make your own pearl dog collar you will need embroidery thread, large faux pearls (18mm), a needle and some satin ribbon. First measure around the dog's neck and add about 12 inches. Then cut the thread to size. Tie a knot as the end of the thread and string the pearls on. Finish off the end with another knot. Now you are ready to tie the strand around your pooch. If it doesn't hold you may need to add a clasp (found at craft stores or if you have an old collar cut off the clasps). The last step is to tie a pretty sating bow around the clasp/joining of the ends.

DIY Jam Packaging
Now is the time (if you are a procrastinator like me:-)) to start brainstorming ideas for Christmas gifts. I love the idea of hand made presents, especially when they are super cute with delicious packaging!
Lucky for non savvy web/graphic designers like me, we have the the author of Eat, Drink, Chic graciously offering up her adorably designed labels for FREE. Hooray!
I love the simplicity of the labels and the "hand stitched look" effect. She has created labels for 5 different jam flavors and they are all available here!

It feels like Fall
The temperatures are dropping and soon the leaves will be changing colors......It feels like fall in my town!
I put together this fall color board and for the first time used a color generator to extract a soft and beautiful palette. It is a simple tool to use and would be really useful for a bride trying to narrow down her wedding colors. Try it out!

Breakfast at Tiffanys
I love these little coffee sleaves from the latest issue of Utterly Engaged. They were a part of their "Breakfast at Tiffanys" inspired event. I think this would be a delightful bridal shower brunch theme! They are super easy to make. Click on the top picture to enlarge it and you will be able to read the instructions :-)
