The hubby, dogs and I had the most wonderful day playing in the snow. I have never experienced anywhere near this much snow and so it was quite fun for me :-) We got 5 inches! The dogs loved catching snowballs but didn't understand where they went when they disintegrated!

Happy Weekend + More Pom Pom Love
I can't believe it is the weekend already. Sadly, thanks to a winter storm, I may be stuck inside all weekend, but hopefully will have power! On another note, I saw this adorable picture of Scarlett Johansson wearing this fluffy pom pom heart tee and instantly thought "this would be a great DIY" Unfortunately, aside from 7th grade home-ec, I have zero sewing experience and couldn't quite figure out how to sew a pom pom securely onto a tee shirt. Does anyone have any suggestions? Someone needs to make a tutorial for this!

LBB loves Carnations
My mother and I have always been huge fans of carnations. I love their softness and fluffiness! This being said, I never really understood the bad stigma that they carry within the floral world. Typically known as a "filler flower" they are often paired unattractively with a lot of baby's breath; however, when grouped en masse they looking stunning! Let me help you see the light.

DIY Homemade Peeps!
I use to think I was the only person in the world that liked peeps. I have a huge sweet tooth and love anything super sugary, so naturally peeps are right up my alley! When I saw this tutorial for homemade peeps a few months ago, I literally jumped for joy! I bookmarked the recipe and decided today was the day to try it out! To make your own peeps, here is what you will need:
Corn Syrup, Gelatin, Sugar, Cold Water, Salt, Vanilla Extract, Corn Starch, Powdered Sugar, Food Coloring and Sanding Sugar and a candy thermometer.

I followed this basic marshmallow recipe and added pink food coloring at the same time I added the vanilla. I used two different size heart cookie cutters (lightly greased) to cut out shapes once the marshmallows had sat over night.
I finished them off by blotting them with a damp paper towel and rolling them in clear sanding sugar.

HeartFelt
Now that the holiday season is long gone and I am getting comfortably settled into 2010, I am finally feeling inspired to craft. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, what better excuse to make something pink and pretty?I have to mention that aside from our etsy shop items (that my mom and I create together) I rarely ever share anything that I make on my own because I am always self conscious about whether or not anyone else would think it is cute. Does anyone else ever feel like this?I guess I just feel like with so many amazingly creative people, and so many wonderful ideas out there, that I am out of slightly out of my league. I don't know why I feel that way. I am always so quick to share beautiful things that other people make here on my blog, why not my own? I think my 2010 goal will be to craft more and be proud of what I make :) Starting with my felt heart stitched Valentine. I may sell this in the etsy shop.....haven't decided yet. I am not sure what to promote it as. It is basically a decorated heart that you can hang. So maybe a door hanger? Or maybe it could be a gift accessory? A Valentine keepsake? Any suggestions?

Sugary Pink Goodness
This yummy post got me thinking......Can you ever really get enough pink? I, for one, LOVE pink, and all of it's girlish glory! I love yummy pink confections. I love plush pink sofas. I love pink frilly frocks. And why not pink books? Am I crazy, or do you love it too?!

Happy Weekend + Brrrrrrr
This pretty much sums up my entire last week....minus the snow! With highs in the teens all week, this Arctic blast was quite a shock to me, coming from Texas where it may get below freezing once a year. I did my best to stay warm, even while having to take a puppy out a gazillion times a day to potty train! Hopefully this week will bring warmer temperatures.....pretty please?

Dare to be bold
Over the last year I have seen a movement of brides really stepping outside of the traditional wedding guidelines and truly tailoring their big day to their own personal style, and I love it! 2010 is all about bold vibrant colors, so if your faves are hot pink and green such as this bride, go for it!
I love that the bride and grooms attire completely reflect their personal style (and they are both very stylish!)
And I have to mention how etsy totally rocked it again! Can you believe the bride's dress is a vintage find from this etsy shop? I am smitten!

Too pretty not to post
I have been staring at this magical photo all evening. I can't get over the dream like quality and pastel yumminess.I have had a few other pretty horsies saved in my files for awhile and thought this was a fitting time to bring em out. I think horses are such mystical creatures. I love to look at them
